Being an Aussie Rules fan, I couldn't help but fall for the tough-yet-vulnerable hero Brett in this 2nd book in the Summerside trilogy.
And I love a realistic heroine. While Renita struggles with her weight issues, she's so ‘real' you feel like you know her.
An enjoyable read.
I'm huge fan of Kelly Hunter's romances and this book is no exception.
Like the finest chocolate, it's rich, intense and satisfying.
I love a bad boy tortured hero and Logan is one of the best.
Could barely put it down.
Once I started this novella I read straight through.
Gripping premise.
So much happens in the novella that you can't help but want to read the rest of the series.
I know I'll be following Mythos Academy after reading this tantalising snippet.
I haven't read a Harlequin Presents in a long while, and I read this one almost in one sitting.
I loved the supreme alpha hero, the passion, the sparks, in this marriage of convenience.
What with writing and reading, I rarely get to bed before 1am.
Last night, my plans for an early night were shot by this book.
I'm always wary when there's hype about a book in case it doesn't live up to expectations.
This one did, and how!
Polly Prince is a standout heroine: ballsy, funny, quirky.
Damon Doukakis is a typical Presents hero: commanding, arrogant and super sexy.
Together? Fireworks!
Every now and then a book comes along that gives me writer envy. This is one of them.
Brilliant read.
Highly recommended.
Lisa Gardner is one of few authors that when I start reading the book I can't put it down.
Her thrillers are riveting.
She has a gift for weaving intricate plot points throughout the book without being obvious and her characters are realistic and appealing.
Her villains are flawed yet invoke sympathy, the sign of a brilliant writer.
Highly recommend.
(Catch Me is book 6 in the D.D. Warren series and shows the gritty Boston detective in a new light, as a struggling mother of a baby. Really added to the depth of the character.)
Fans of fun, snappy contemporary romance will love the Kowalski brothers as much as I do.
Nothing like a tough-guy ex-Army hero being brought to his knees by a strong woman.
And loved the secondary romance between Cat and Russell, the older characters in the book.
It has been a long time since I sat down and read a book cover to cover in one sitting, but that's exactly what I did with Shift last night.
Once I started I couldn't put it down.
Didn't see the major twist coming AT ALL and I always see the twist!
Riveting and creepy and goosebump-inducing, this stayed with me long after I went to bed in the wee small hours.
Quick summary: Olive is a teenager with mental health issues following the break up of her parents' marriage. She's instantly appealing and likable.
Then there's Miranda...the new girl at school who is beyond scary.
I had no idea this novel would have paranormal elements but the great thing, we're left guessing at the end.
Yeah, Olive does some stupid stuff sometimes but it didn't matter because I was totally hooked by the plot and couldn't turn pages fast enough to discover more.
Highly recommend.
Read this in a day.
Riveting plot, interesting characters and the perfect blend of romance/thriller/mystery.
Loved it.
Utterly delightful.
Like many, I watched the Netflix series first then picked up the book, and I adore them both.
I can identify with Simon, the duke, from personal experience, and all his insecurities.
Daphne is a witty, bold heroine who's perfect for him.
Loved it!
There is so much I could say about this book but won't.
Am I glad I gave this a second go and read past the first few chapters?
Yes.
i can see the attraction.
Christian Grey's character arc is strangely compelling and addictive.
Jeffery Deaver is one of my new favourite authors!
His books always deliver, with page turning speed and enough twists to keep the reader guessing.
Loved the character Kathryn Dance, want to read more of her!
Page-turning multicultural women's fiction.
Loved the interwoven stories of the characters.
I adore Cassandra Clare's series. So addictive!
The love triangle between Tessa, Will and Jem broke my heart.
Diving into the next in the series, Clockwork Princess, straight away!
The firs Barbara Samuel book I ever read, one of few books to make me cry.
Made me glom her entire backlist and put her on my favourite author list.
Fast-paced thriller that has you guessing to the last pages.
Absolutely love Lisa Gardner's books. The Perfect Husband gave me nightmares when I read it last year!
Must glom the rest of her fantastic novels.
Read this in one day, a real page turner.
The author puts you right inside the main character's head and you feel like you're experiencing every chilling moment through her.
Thoroughly enjoyed it.
The first YA contemporary I've read in a while, a nice break from my paranormal binge.
Loved this! So real, so poignant and the ending really had me choked up.
The characterisation in this book makes it a standout.
Loved the ‘real' feelings of the heroine, which any woman with kids could probably identify with.
Poignant, evocative, a winner!
I adore Alex Kava's books and every book I've read is a 5 star read.
This one lost a star because the focus was taken off Maggie O'Dell, with Liz Bailey, a secondary character, grabbing a lot of attention.
And capturing the bad guy was a tad predictable, without the head-snapping plot twists I'm used to in Alex's books.
