This book just didn't hook me in. Maybe it was because the triplets were 16 and seducing kings? Also, I was dreading to read this, which isn't a good sign. I think I am not the right audience for this book.
This book is the first Brandon Sanderson I read. I was intimidated at first (600 pages), but I quickly fell in love with the story. Yes, there are a lot of characters to keep track of, which got easier to do as the book went on. Sanderson goes into depth explaining the story's magic system and is talented at character building. I actually read this slowly to fully absorb this world. Overall, this book was a 5 star read for me. I will pick up the sequel whenever it is released, which won't be for awhile.
This book was a lot of fun to read. The mixed media was an interesting experience. I didn't think I would like it and was expecting the mixed media to be a distraction, but it flowed pretty nicely. It had a good amount of humor. Fun read.
This book was way too boring for me. I just couldn't get into the characters. Unfortunately, this is another book going into my dnf pile. Sad!
I had a great time reading this book. It was creepy and fun mystery/thriller with a supernatural twist.
I was a flight attendant (back in the day) and I hated this book. The protagonist was unlikable. She was basically sabotaging her life in the entire story. I thought it would be a fun mystery, but it turned out to be trash!
2.5 stars. I'm so disappointed! I wanted to like this book. It was so boring! I have a lot of books on my TBR and I need to DNF books more often than I do. I admit, I thought it would get better...but I was wrong. The romance was so unbelievable. I had to skim through the last 50 pages because I just stopped caring. Not sure if I will pick up “The Starless Sea”. Only time will tell...
I was drawn to this book because I spent 4 years of my childhood in Okinawa, Japan. It was easy for me to relate to the protagonist in the story. Enjoyable read.
Hated the writing style. It felt like the book was written in a different language (Italian, maybe?). My brain didn't comprehend it. This was just not for me.
Grew up reading these books! My favorites were The Queen of the Damned and Tales of the Body Thief. The Vampire Lestat was a snore fest.
If you want to read a creepy retelling of Snow White with gorgeous artwork, then this graphic novel is for you. Neil Gaian never ceases to amaze me after all these years.
I haven't given a one star in a long time. This book was just awful. The characters are horrible and unlikeable. The writer must have a hatred of small towns and Christian families, because her portrayal of them is just despicable. I don't consider myself religious, but using Christianity to display characters the way she did is a bit offensive. I love a good thriller /mystery, but this one is a miss for me. It's sad, but I was actually looking forward to reading this. Huge disappointment.
This book was way too pretentious for me. I disliked how the story started (the POV of Nantucket and bragging how great it is). It just ruined the tone of the book for me. Not a fan.
This book was really hard for me to get into. The writing style is very lyrical, which I am not used to. Once I got used to the writing style, I really enjoyed the book.
I read mixed reviews about this book, but I really enjoyed it. It was a great wrap up to the trilogy. For me, the story was satisfying to the end.
A fast-paced, action packed story enriched with faeries, merfolk and magic. This book was filled with strategy, back-stabbing and a lot of unforeseen surprises! A fun read!
This book was so hyped up that I thought I wouldn't like it. Well, it was thoroughly enjoyable. A dark and magical story about a mortal living in a land ruled by faeries. The story captured me from the start and makes me excited to read the next book in the series. A must read for fantasy lovers.
All the characters were unlikable and the author portrayed all men to be misogynistic monsters. Very annoying.
I never played League of Legends, nor did I know anything about the lore. I decide to pick this up to give it a try. The audiobook was the way to go, since the production value is excellent. The story was beautifully done. The ending made me emotional!
This one I had to skim through to get to the gist of the story. I actually enjoyed “The Shadows” a little better.
I couldn't put this book down. It was a fun read. I'm curious of where the story will go.
