South Side Girl From Chicago

I've been a fan of Tia Ja'nae for a very long time so when I saw this I had to get it day one. It's different than her last novel for sure but it's two books that chronicle a up and coming asshole trying to act like Tony Montana running Toronto. The first book has some harsh scenes that make you reach for the rosary but baby, that book two, NOTHING BUT THE BUSINESS. Jean-Max has the ultimate FAFO moment dealing with Hambone (which is that bad bitch from Ghosts On The Block Never Sleep) and gets more than one itch scratched in that. Highly recommend.

I read this when it first came out around the time I was a natural blonde & just dusted it off the shelf Xmas. The story was very realistic about two lifelong friends who get tested in their interpersonal relationships once grown ish happens. We all can learn valuable lessons from this book which is never say never because you never know what you will do until you are in a situation. If ever there were a book that addressed the black woman on black woman interpersonal dynamic, this was it. Highly recommend.

People never really know what women go through unless they tell you. The ladies in this book let their guard down and discuss in depth to their comfort level their emotional and spiritual health dealing with a multitude of life issues. Through this book, I was able to better understand my life experiences and gain a different perspective how to approach situations in the future. Your current life journey will determine how it will serve you. Overall, it was an excellent read and I highly recommend it to others.

It's a private eye book so think Happytime Murders on steroids. Lots of dirty sex, sexism, street level grimy stuff. Kenmare is a po' man's Bond if he was a cop that gets the used up stuff every time and its great. Desperate broads looking for desperate men and Kenmare fits the bill. It's believable as hell too the whole thing about Kenmare getting jailbait chicks. A bum like him on his luck drinking and smoking too much always finds that kind of trouble working. He finds the girls and sometimes saves the girls he looking for but never helps them after the job's done and that's what I love about him. He's the epitome of ass, cash, or gas. If you like old school dirty stuff like this you'll love this book.
