Stoner is a tale of love, sacrifice and the pursuit of knowledge. In Stoner, William's weaves a story where nothing epic happens, yet we feel both the pain and joy of epic proportions, of a man who lived a relatively ordinary life. It is told with extraordinary empathy and language that supersedes anything a person could express verbally. It's ability to make, even those who are not empaths, empathetic, and those who are, to weep vicariously, is paralleled only by its ability to detail the 65 year life of a man in a manner that makes it feel as though one has just lived those years with him and yet, it still feels as though it ends all too soon.
Too boring and plotless. None of the characters were particularly interesting and it wasn't character driven either.
