This is one of the best slice-of-life novels I have read. A super fun read that will make you laugh out loud multiple times.
Hopepunk at its best.
Simplicity is difficult and some of the simple joys of life described in the book are really precious.
Highly recommended if you like Comfort Punk, Hope Punk Genre.
Good insights to reflect upon!
Some gems in this book and all the real stories make these experiences shared much more believable and actionable!
I was initially intimidated by both the author's credentials but surprisingly this book is accessible to experts and layman readers (like me) alike. The authors eschew jargon and technical language, making complex economic concepts easily understandable to a broader audience. This accessibility, coupled with the book's compelling arguments and real-world examples, makes it a must-read for anyone interested in understanding India's economic trajectory.
I feel this is a significant book (and came at an apt time) for every Indian to read and understand what are the real issues around us and how government policies are formed to solve these problems. What sets this book apart is its forward-thinking approach. Rather than dwelling on past shortcomings, Rajan and Lamba focus on charting a path forward, offering innovative policy prescriptions aimed at unlocking India's full potential. From harnessing the power of technology to fostering entrepreneurship and innovation, the book presents a compelling vision for India's economic future.
Highly recommended.
“Missing In Action” is a compelling exploration of the vital role that public policy plays in shaping society. Through insightful analysis and engaging anecdotes, the authors make a compelling case for why every citizen should be actively engaged in understanding and influencing public policy.
What sets this book apart is its emphasis on the importance of citizen participation in the policymaking process. Well-informed and engaged citizens are essential for holding governments accountable and driving positive change.
This makes us think about how we can become active participants in shaping the policies that affect our lives. Whether you're a seasoned policymaker or a concerned citizen, this book is essential reading for anyone who cares about the future of their community.
A very very short book (especially if you are listening to an audiobook) but very well written. This is a great example of saying a lot using few words. Writing is powerful at the same time very tender.
I am looking forward to read more of Claire Keegan now!
“It's too good, she is. She wants to find the good in others, and sometimes her way of finding that is to trust them, hoping she'll not be disappointed but she sometimes is.” ― Claire Keegan
“You don't ever have to say anything,” he says. “Always remember that as a thing you need never do. Many's the man lost much just because he missed a perfect opportunity to say nothing.”
If you liked the first one, I'm sure you are going to like this one too!
As usual great storytelling, charming characters (Viv, the warrior orc/barista-and now bibliophile–is my new favourite), Bookshops & Bonedust is every bit as delightful as the first one. A true comfort punk, hope punk!
Now I just want to take a cup of coffee, some scones and sit in a quiet corner!
This is a great essay/book. Says everything I've ever felt about mathematics in schools.
Every parent, teacher, student should read this one.
There are points where I have some disagreements but nevertheless those are with the processes not the concepts.
What an epic epic tale ....
I am short of words!
No review can make justice to this tale!
Okay officially enrolled into LOTR fanclub!
Fantastic writing, world-building, and characters!
On to second book of the series!
The book is brilliantly written—the kind you don't want to put down.
The entire process of a post-apocalyptic world where Aliens have captured remaining humans is described so well that it keeps you hooked till the end.
Humans really come out badly in comparison to aliens in this and I appreciate Octavia E. Butler's understanding of human psychology, and how selfish and unpredictable humans are.
Overall this book sets you up nicely for the trilogy. It ends on a note that builds great excitement for future books. I am excited to read further to understand what happens next.
“Repressive societies always seemed to understand the danger of “wrong” ideas.”
I am still thinking about this one .. it will consume me for some time looks like.
It's fantastic, and different and takes us into our brutal past.
Respect to everyone who fought against racism!
A one of a kind book, highly recommended!

Even if it is not a hardcore murder mystery, I was hooked on the narration throughout the book. The reveal in the end is also good and sums up things well.
Good read!
These books keep getting better and better! I love Ancy's journey of discovery and lost & found.
