It was fascinating to see my childhood experience be put into words. While I wouldn't say that my mother is narcissistic, there was much to learn about healing for daughters, and to ending the legacy of pain nevertheless.

This must be what poetry in prose is like - beautiful, haunting, but ever flowing forward. It speaks to the part of us that loves too much, too deeply, and is afraid to ask for what we need most.

This book was an absolute joy to read - it is equal parts science and anecdotal account, with just the right amount of hilarity in just the right places. I'm looking forward to volume II!
