Betty Smith

Betty Smith was an American author. She is best known for her ***1943*** bestselling book ***A Tree Grows in Brooklyn***, her first novel, and considered one of the great American novels of the 20th century. The book became an immediate bestseller and catapulted Smith to fame. Four years later, in ***1947***, the novel ***Tomorrow Will Be Better*** appeared. It would be another 11 years before ***Maggie-Now***, her third book, was published in ***1958***.
