This is the second Patterson novel I've read after 1st to Die and I find myself having to force myself to read other books in between for fear that I'd never get anything done otherwise. I am gripped by this series.
Both if the first two books I've devoured in a day which for a busy young mum of 4 children is a true testament to how gripping they are.
Bringing back all the old characters from Book One and tying together the plots nicely this book sets off at a cracking pace and doesn't let up. Again just when you think the case has been cracked there's more twists and turns than you can imagine. I was just on edge with this book and loved it.
Have forced another book into my kindle but I was sorely tempted to just read the 3rd instalment immediately but am keeping it like my secret craving....
I really enjoyed this book, mostly because I like the female characters very much.
However, I can't help to see a pattern. This second book follows pretty much the same formula as the first book.
Or is it just me?
I truly hope it is just me and that the next book in the series can take me by surprise because I honestly want to keep reading this series. But I won't be able to do it if all the outcomes are going to be so predictable.
With some trepidation, she reached for the third book...
I find it hard to rate police procedurals like it as they are all fairly similar and formulaic but yet I still really enjoy them! Patterson writes well, it's fast paced, interesting and will keep you turning the pages. This one had a good storyline and good pace, however I would like to see a bit more depth and development to the characters. I found everything very surface level but know this is a longer series so hope we explore more with the characters as we progress.
