UPS: A Match of Wits brings back the glorious characters from The Ladies of Distinction yet again and gives light to my personal favorite characters in the series, Agatha and Zayne. In the books that I have read of this series (Gentleman of Her Dreams and A Talent For Trouble), these two characters were involved in many a fiasco as background characters but were sort of “the brains” of the operations. So, having them in the spotlight was very fun and I found myself laughing out loud more than once. The writing is very smooth and understandable, the description is excellent, and the dialogue is spectacular.
DOWNS: Because Agatha is a journalist who seeks uniqueness amongst others, she often finds herself searching for stories in shady businesses, such as opium dens, pubs, and brothels. Though there are no scenes of what goes on in the brothels (aside from one female kissing a man as he walks in), there are a few fights and drinks taken in the pubs that need to be taken into consideration when purchasing for younger audiences. There are also a few gun fights/wounds that are mildly descriptive.
OVERALL: I absolutely loved this book and give it a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. If you love Historical Fiction/Romance then I highly suggest you pick up this book, as well as the entire series, you will not regret it!
