Mark Epstein shares the advice he has learned from his years of experience as a psychiatrist combined with what he has learned as a Buddhist. He shares the wisdom of the Eightfold Path in helping patients both get past and use the ego to find happiness in life.
a lovely interesting read. good to followup the mindfulness book and all the meditation apps (10days so far, maybe I will make this a habit) by pointing out you can't fix all your problems and become zen just through mindfulness (clearly I was hoping that tho). Each chapter is one part of the eightfold path and Epstein mixes stories of silent retreats with therapy session (he includes a story about the author of the craving mind book I just read, as well as the 10% Happier journalist who had a panic attack on air, and the other guy - Joseph Goldstein - so western meditation is a small world full of dudes apparently ;)
I will probably look for some of his other books because I enjoy his writing and this is now a topic I'm into.
