One of my favorite animes! I'm so glad to live the story again through the manga.
PIcked this as a recommendation as one of the “Must read Mangas” from the 2010s
This was an interesting concept but this volume was overall extremely repetitive and formulaic. There is an underlying mystery to the story but its really not explored. Also, this story has not aged well at all reading this in 2020. At face value, it is very comedic in tone but when the school starts pulling in extremely disturbed students to assist in assasinating the alien teacher, it hits way to close to home given recent headlines with violence in schools.

I absolutely loved this first installment. I'm so excited to pick up the next one.
It was really funny and the whole premise is so intriguing.

“Assassination Classroom, Vol. 1” is the first in a Japanese science fiction comedy manga series written and illustrated by Yusei Matsui.
The series follows the daily life of an invincible octopus-like being - known as Koro-sensei - who has threatened to destroy the Earth within a year, and a group of misfit students tasked with assassinating him before the year ends. The first volume blended, comedy and action in a great way, as the students each struggle with their own challenges and goals, while also navigating the absurdity of being trained to kill their teacher. The artwork is enjoyable and expressive. I gave the first volume a 4 out five stars. I am excited to see where the series goes.
