I love books involving a bit of spying/espionage, so I enjoyed reading this!
I liked Rosalind and Charlie as characters.
It was very well written, with plenty of tension. I probably would have read it in one go if I'd had the full book.
Thank you to PH and Jennie for the chance to read this book.
Meh. This book was aight. Predictable plot and characters. I hate when the female main character is devoid of an actual personality and is instead described as unrealistically perfect. She's beautiful but doesn't know it and is really smart but also sexy. It read like a One Direction song. The connection between the characters was lack-luster and the romance between the two main characters was corny. The writing itself was decent. It's just an okay book. Definitely chick-lit.
I was taken aback by how much of a romance novel this book was. The idea didn't click (despite the title) given the subject matter. It's rare for me to skim a book rather than move on, but I did this time because even though I knew from the first page this wasn't going to be my cup of tea, the historical and scientific elements of the plot intrigued me. I was particularly interested in Charlie's character. While definitely one of the more interesting romance novels I've come across, I still struggled through it as I'm not partial to this writing style. The last few chapters held my attention more and I was impressed though not surprised by the ending.
