Re-listen 6/11/19I needed the audio version of a rom-com to fill the time: lots of work and not enough brain cells to spare for something requiring attention, The Wedding Date and not Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. I like them both but I needed the former. This novella fits the bill, I unabashedly love the audio, and I'm okay with my original review. A Win!****************3.5**If you have a penchant for insta-lust/love, the most beautiful men you've ever seen, orgasms that make you faint etc., you're in good hands with [a:Charity Parkerson 4506281 Charity Parkerson https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1519415903p2/4506281.jpg] Lincoln, an E.R. doctor, and Shayne, a hockey goalie on the tail end of his career meet when Lincoln t-bones Shayne's car. Cute. Lincoln pulls Shayne from the wreck and the first thing Shayne does as he's laying on the ground with two broken ribs, a sprained ankle and a cut on his face is check out his “rescuer”. On day two of knowing each other we have these thoughts from Shayne: “Shayne wondered if he'd ever adjust to the vast difference between the version of Lincoln he spent time with and the side Lincoln showed the rest of the world.” At this point how does he know anything about Lincoln? It doesn't matter. The raison d être for these books is escapism. If you can suspend disbelief for a couple of hours and revel in two über hot guys falling in lust/love pretty instantaneously, defying logic or reason this is for you. There's some undeveloped hints about dominance in the bedroom but these go unexplored or are muddled at best. Because this is meant as an introduction to a a new series we get a bit of the next couple in the series, Grady and Ryker. To those who read Ms. Parkerson's previous series Ugly Eternity Ryker will be reminiscent of Hawke, a man so beautiful people trip over themselves just looking at his face and in the Hard Hit series we get Ryker, whose beauty is like a siren call to every man that crosses his path.heretofore straight Grady is putty in his handsDid I love this? I didn't hate it, and it did entertain me for a couple of hours. As a plus [a:Hollie Jackson] does an excellent narration. Yes. She is a woman. ** I must emphasize that this is not a hockey book by any stretch of the imagination. **
