Quite a different take on the “army-grunt gets take lead” trope. Thoroughly entertaining.

SciFi popcorn that starts a bit 2 dimensional but picks up as you get further into the story. Simple and fun entertainment in the Scalzi genre lacking in a bit of the polish (or Editor?).

Loved it.

Skippy is such a great character.

It was starting to be a military drama that just happened on another planet, and then POOF! Skippy appeared and suddenly I was really engaged again! Ended up loving it!
