In the 1950s it was unusual to have access to a computer. Danny gets his mother and his teacher upset when he uses one.

As far as what non-expert people knew about computers back then, this is pretty good.
It shows the kids entering data into the computer that it will use to solve problems and they discover that you can't use a computer to solve your problem unless you have a very good understanding of the problem.
