Feed was one of my favorite novels of all time. It blew my mind and made me sob. Honestly, the emotional impact of that book caused me to take a long time before trying the second. Especially considering how the first one ended (for those who know what I mean).
Deadlines was not what I expected, honestly it was better than I expected. I didn't think I could love it this much. Shaun's POV was fantastic and the ongoing twists with his mental stability were amazing. The plot twists in this book were absolutely off the chain good. Especially the first and the last major plot twists (for spoilers sake I will not explain).
My only real problems with this one were the side characters. I had more trouble getting into their heads than the ones from the first novel. Becks never really connected with me and neither did Alric. I loved Mahir though, and Maggie. Both of them were fantastic. But the other two were fairly bland.
The other thing was that the middle lost tension for a while. Considering this book is suspense horror, it needed that tension to keep me hooked, and it really wasn't there until the storm (which is quite near the end). The last chunk of the book fully pulled me back in though and I read it all in one day.
Overall, loved it. And yes, I will definitely be reading the final.
OH SHIT!!!!! THAT ENDING!!!!! While I will say, I do like the first book better, the Ending of this one is what really made it for me!!!! I HAVE to start the final book tonight, I just Have to!!!!
This series is very addictive and readable, but it's definitely lacking in some technical areas.
