Psychological manga at its best. Two iconic characters (Light and L). Amazing plot, with surprises at every turn. Great Anime adaptation.
I finally gave this a try! I loved it! So cool... I don't think I'd use the death note myself, even though it may be intriguing to delete bad people from existence lol. I'll read the other volumes for sure! I don't think I'll watch the anime though. Yagami is soo smart on his plans, it's crazy!
This is a great story. It has a legendary status in the manga world and rightfully so. Our main character Light Yagami finds a notebook (of death) belonging to Ryuk the shinigami (a demon of some sorts). Basically, if you write a name in it, that person will die. A character named only as L has been assigned to stop him.
The story made me think about good and evil. What would you do if you found yourself in a situation like Light? There are a lot of twists and turns that make the story interesting and exciting to read. The art is just like all the other manga I have read. It doesn't stand out like Vagabond, but it isn't bad either. As far as I know this edition of the manga has a bigger page size and contains two volumes in one book. The sides of the paper are black, it's a beautiful edition.
Even for people that normally don't read manga I would recommend this story.
That is my second manga but first read as a physical book. It's definitely is an interesting experience. I was engaged in the story and I'm looking forward to reading the next volumes.
