Set five years after book one, it was great to check-in on Galen and Reece and see how they were doing. Sariel, the vampire and fallen Angel/ watcher that now shares Devon's consciousness is ready to take over and fight for his redemption and love. Just a little snag, after five years, Devon is ready to renege on his deal to fade away quietly as he's found his soulmate in Willow. Man, their story is riveting. I love how feisty Willow is. She doesn't take anything and fights back at every opportunity, and I just love that. Devon isn't easily swayed though, just ask Sariel. This book was more emotional for me and the performance from Will M Watt and Susan Fouche highlighted that aspect.
Such an enthralling story and I'm looking forward to the next book, pet of me doesn't want it to end and I'm dreading what may happen.
Having read other spin-off series first, it was fun seeing some familiar characters show up.
Will M Watt and Susan Fouche perform this book in duet. I loved both Will and Susan in this book. In book one, I wasn't really sold on Susan and thought she wasn't for me. But I'm this book, I was all in. I don't know if it was the character or that I adjusted to her style of narration, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.
