Emma's Story

Extremely surprised by how good this little fairy tale novella was. I usually don't like fairy tales or novellas but the prose was absolutely exceptional. The story very simplistic and I wish the ending was a bit better but the journey was fun none the least.
The story follows a group of what I would call midget Fauns. A bear has intruded on their village and they are looking for someone to help. A young maiden is betrothed to a young man who wants to win her favor but she has the “ick”. He goes to deal with the bear himself and she must find a way to save him. Doesn't sound like a book that I would like but it ended up being a great winter tale
