Twin sisters went to the stone to dance. One to fulfill a childhood dream and one to live out a nightmare.
Hulanna convinced her sister Allie to dance with her at the stones hoping to open the portal to the fairies. Once they did, Hulanna willingly left a Shining One. Another came after and chased Allie trying to catch her. During the chase, Allie gets knocked out.
When she wakes up she can no longer see the world like she used to. Hulanna is gone. Her father a Hunter has to find her and the other suddenly missing items in the village. As a Hunter herself, Allie wants to go with him, but her blindness makes her a hindrance.
When she follows a trail that only she can see catastrophe abounds changing the lives of everyone in the village. Pitting family member against family member. The town against Allie. Friends become enemies.
And a blind mortal girl becomes the Fae Hunter.
I really enjoyed this adventure. Fae Hunter (B07XLPZTFR, 2019) is the first book in the “Tangled Fae” series by Sarah K.L. Wilson. Wilson puts us in the action immediately and fills us in on the back story along the way. She constantly keeps us going from one disaster or misadventure to another. There is always something going on for Allie.
It is almost like there are no commercial breaks, so you cannot put down the book because you might miss something. The story is a quick read. Wilson breaks it down into two books so you do get that intermission break (laugh). There is plenty of high stakes drama, folklore, and gruesome details to sink your teeth into.
The story takes twists and turns I did not see coming and others you kind of guess will come, but then they come with a really big twist that you do not see coming (laugh). Fun. This book is a good time. I look forward to more “tangled” fun in the future! ✶✶✶✶
I received an ARC of this book and I am writing a review without prejudice and voluntarily.
