I really liked Easton a lot in the previous books so I was quite excited to pick up this one but I probably shouldn't have. While I thought he was cute and sweet and protective towards Ella despite struggling with his addiction issues, this book shows him in a totally different light. He comes across as arrogant, entitled, even stalkery coz he won't leave Hartley alone though she has told him no multiple times. I also thought all his feelings towards Ella sounded very creepy and I really couldn't reconcile the East from the previous books with the one here. Hartley comes across as an interesting character but I still couldn't connect with her a lot. The absolutely crazy twists and cliffhanger at the end made me mad because it's become the authors' trademark to make the readers continue with the series. But I don't think I will. I was really disappointed with the change in Easton's character and I am not sure if I am ready to get sucked into his story anymore.
I was lucky enough to wake up to an ARC of this book on my Kindle and I devoured it in a day!
Now where do I begin? Okay, so, Easton is a MESS. He's cocky, narcissistic, does stupid things, and is generally not a person that I would ever want to be friends with. At the same time though, you can see how broken he still is from his mother's death and you can't help but wish for him to grow as a person and find his way in a world where his family is considered royalty. I feel like deep down, Easton has a good heart and he wants to do the right thing by people, he just has a not so great way of going about it.
I live for the over the top, ridiculous drama this series gives and Fallen Heir definitely delivered on that front. I was not expecting that ending and I'll definitely be counting down the days until book #5.
The story continues with Easton in the fourth book of The Royals series. I could not connect with Easton and Hartley, not like I did with Reed and Ella. I struggled to finish this book. After I finished, I read reviews and spoilers for the fifth and final book because I won't be reading it.
I'm glad I did because it would be a waste of time.
Anyway, I do recommend this series, just stop after the third book. The rest will RUIN (haha) you!
