This books are utterly ridiculous but also highly addicting. I was intrigued enough to need to know what was going to become of all the characters but I'm pretty disappointed with how this all turned out. To me, it was incredibly rushed and seemed too easy of a solution.
I also so wanted more Sawyer and Sebastian and we did not get much of them in this book. That being said, this is a great trilogy to binge read when you need something quick and mindless to read.
Okay, here we gooooooo! This book, even though it did drag a little bit, was actually really good. I saw the plot twist of Steve being the murderer from the beginning, and the anticipation of waiting for exactly how it was going to be revealed, and then him almost murdering his own daughter! Like, he was trying and failing to be a good dad, and then he totally lost it when she was like, you did it, and he was like, no ... But it was him, and he was going to blame the whole thing on Reed and let his god son take the blame. And he was pissed about Ella and Reed dating because he was supposedly a murderer even though he knew that Reed wasn't because he was, and he murdered Brooke because he thought it was his wife!
And not only that, but because he is a bastard and a terrible person, he had an affair with Maria because he convinced her that Callum was cheating on her, because Steve was a cheating bastard, and convinced Maria that Callum was one too, even though he genuinely loved Maria and would never cheat on her. The guilt over cheating is one of the main reasons that she killed herself, and she wrote Steve a note explaining as so, and while Brooke had been staying in the apartment, she found the letter, and had actually hidden it in her room, which then became Ella's room, and Ella found the letter, and when she confronted Steve about it, he almost killed her, and she was like, you killed Brooke too, and he had a whole break down explaining how he was a terrible person, and Diana, the unexpected savior same in and SHOT Steve to prevent him from killing Ella. The ending of the book, like all the books in this series was a whorl wind.
Reed is a murder suspect and all his past deeds finally catch up to him. No one is ready to believe he is innocent but Ella trusts him. Their relationship in this book is tested in ways normal teenage ones are not but they remain strong together. Their faith and trust in each other made me very emotional and I loved them even more than I thought I could. Reed's character development is huge in this one and I felt he is finally growing up and owning up to his actions. I kinda guessed the culprit early on but didn't know the Why of it. But this didn't affect my enjoyment of the book even one bit. I loved the twist at the end and I am so happy this book doesn't end on another cliffhanger. On the whole, this series may have too much of everything but I still love it. I love Ella and Reed, the Royal family, Val and even Wade. This series is my new guilty pleasure and I totally enjoyed the experience.
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this wonderful book and I'm so glad because I absolutely could not wait any longer to find out what happens to Ella, Reed, Easton and the rest of the Royal family.
I have to say that I was not disappointed in the least! Some people may argue that this series was too angsty or over the top and unrealistic but to me, that's the best part. It has been so much fun reading about these crazy Royals and coming up with all kinds of theories about what would happen next. Twisted Palace was a perfect conclusion to the story. Much thanks to Elle Kennedy and Jen Frederick for teaming up and taking us on this wild and crazy roller coaster ride! I'm sad that Ella and Reed's story has come to an end but I will be anxiously awaiting Easton's book!
