Bit of a scumbag
damn fine investigator
great bone structure, too.
An enjoyable read. It took me a little while to really get into it but after that it was a real page turner with a satisfying conclusion. I look forward to reading more of Fletch's adventures.
What an outstanding read. Funny, satirical, with a lot of heart, crackling dialogue...oh yeah, and a pretty solid mystery.
It has none of the goofiness, and better plotting than the Chase flick (which I really do enjoy as its own entity)
The first–and possibly best–of a great series. Worth reading again and again.
Fletch is a book that does exactly what it sets out to. It's a mystery with its share of a few twists and lots of questions that keep the reader hooked. Unfortunately I never connected well with Fletch as his attitudes towards people I found extremely off putting. Cruelty to animals, casual misogyny, and a very uncomfortable relationship with Bobbi were all red flags for me. I did like Fletch's quick talking style and his attention to detail at his job as a reporter. All in all it was enjoyable, but it really wasn't for me. 2.5 stars.
