I UGLY sobbed while reading the last half of this book, and it was almost 5/5 for me.
The writing in the beginning felt a little bit rushed and I had a hard time getting into it, but once we got to the “present time” it picked up and grasped my attention a lot faster. The writing did feel cliche a lot of the times, but honestly in the best way. Sometimes we need a little cliche.
Great representation of lgbtq, and it discusses difficult topics like coming to terms so rn your sexuality, and coping with trauma. It might be difficult for some to read.
I enjoyed this book like I enjoy a cheesy romance movie.
the beginning and the plot were great - but the book was way to long and the ending was so bad ....till 60% it would be solid 3,5 stars.
But please please never say the word baby again
★★★☆☆ three and a half stars
♡
- absolutely adored the sex scenes, one of the best i've read in a while, if you want great spice, this is the right place
- give me all the keening, whining, whimpering and gasping, there can never be enough
- loved seeing Ky and Av being soft together
tw: sexual assault of a child, violence, bullying, homophobia, emotional abuse
so the first half of this was a 5-star read, and I was willing to rate it 4 stars until the 80% mark
genuinely wtf though?? it goes completely off the rails and introduces a topic that ruined my reading experience and didn't really add anything to the story other than to cause relationship drama
Book Review: For the Fans by Nyla K.
Rating: ★★★☆☆ (3/5)
I wanted to like “For the Fans,” but it felt like every trope was thrown in for fun, making the story feel overstuffed. The book went on about 100 pages too long, which dragged the pacing and made it less enjoyable overall. Avi and Kyran were okay as characters but came across as somewhat shallow. Kyran's constant rage felt unrealistic, even with his past trauma, and Avi was annoying at times. These character issues made it hard to fully invest in their story. Ultimately, I believe people mainly like this book for the spice rather than the plot or character development. While it had potential, “For the Fans” fell short for me, earning a 3 out of 5 stars.
Wowwwww this is definitely going in as one of my favourite gay romances of all time.
The sex scenes were like nothing I've ever read before. This was more enemies to lovers than any other book I've ever read that claims to be enemies to lovers, because these two actually BICKER like the stepbrothers they are. It was hilarious, it was sexy, and God I was screaming the entire time.
And later on the book becomes more about the romance, and the sweetness was just as good as the spice. It is always awesome to follow a gay couple find the courage to get together against all odds.
I definitely love Avi and Ky, and them together as a couple.
What an amazing book!!
I'll definitely be checking out more from this author.
