This book is a testament to battles the likes of which changed the world. Examines each battle and places the conflict in its historical context.

A better title would be "A history of just British (and mostly not great or in any way relevant) naval battles". I have no idea how the author made the selection...
Seriously lacking in military, technical and context details, but overabundent in collateral useless and ridiculous ones (a hospital was built after the battle, some books ended up in the So-so village, after the victory the king wrote to his son "good news" and so on).
The author is also completely incapable to describe battles in 2 dimensions. The text usually goes like "some ships went to Havre, some towards Bafleur, while the British veered towards Calais". No map included, so absolutely meaningless! When it would have been so easy to use Westwards, or towards the enemy/ away from the enemy, or even against the wind!
How could possibly the author be a Dr.? In what, astrology maybe?
