Fun book if you’re a fan of the Halo series. You get much needed lore for how the master chief and UNSC came to be.
One thing I appreciated is how dominant the Convenent are portrayed. Unlike the video game, the aliens are an unstoppable force, armed with plasma weaponry that can melt the most sophisticated UNSC defenses. The stakes are high and it’s interesting to see how the humans overcome it.
Reach didn't fall until like the last 40 pages. An amazing foundation for the world of Halo. It created such a large universe and many iconic characters and ideas that have been built off of for decades.
