It was very well written, but for most of the book it was easy to put down and I could've just left it. I think maybe this genre just isn't for me.
I would love this if I was more of a romance girly, but as is I need more action in my books since my own life is so boring. I still flew through it and enjoyed it quite a bit. It was bittersweet as it hit home in a lot of aspects.

It just wouldn't be summer without an Emily Henry book to kick it off! I can always pick up her latest safe in the knowledge that I will enjoy the story. This one has a great cast of characters that you come to know and love, who all gather in Maine for their annual week together. At the start of the week, there are things that these friends are hiding from each other, even though they are the closest people on the planet to them. By the end of the week, all is revealed and everyone is closer yet because they understand each other a bit better. I'm so glad that this author is getting the recognition for great reads, particularly summer reads with a touch of romance thrown in, with her first hardcover release. Great beach read for anyone looking for interesting complex characters and a solid storyline.
Love this book! Loved the setting. Loved the relationship with friends from past as well as relationship with the exboyfriend.
3.76, my least favorite Emily Henry. The issue between the couple seemed so unnaturally dramatic.
Це було окей. Але я б хотіла від цієї історії чогось іншого, якихось інших подій. І більш складного закінчення.
You'd think I would've had a hard time reading this between all the leg swinging and blushing and giggling, but it actually went pretty smooth.
This was okay. Not my favorite Emily Henry (still People We Meet on Vacation by a wide margin). I sort of appreciate her reimagining of the divorce-remarriage plotline, but didn't find the amount of miscommunication particularly believable and/or sympathetic, and (although thinking back on it, includes her other stuff I've read), there's so much drinking! Now I'm sounding like a hater, but I don't regret reading, was entertained, and her best work means I'll keep reading!
I'd heard mixed reviews about this but I enjoyed it. It did jump back and forward in time which I'm not a fan of but it made sense to do it that way to learn the background of the characters.
A book about doing what makes you happy, instead of always trying to make everyone else around you happy. Loved it!
3.5/5
Emily Henry is definitely a talented writer but I think sometimes it takes a little too long for her to get to the point. This book was filled with some very beautiful lines but honestly it could've been 100 pages shorter if it weren't for the back and forth lack of communication between, not only the main couple of the book, but also the entire friend group. Overall, I did enjoy the book and understand why people like it so much (it has some great overall messages) but it just wasn't as life-changing for me as it seems it was for most of the others who've read it.
This book was meh for me. I didn't hate it but didn't love it. The writing was alright but I found the story sometimes boring. That's it, not much else going on here!!!!

Emily Henry, you have done it again.
I will admit I went into this worried that it wasn't going to possibly be able to live up to the admiration I have for Book Lovers, however, I am so happy to say that I was proven wrong... completely wrong.
Fake relationship? Second chance romance? Happy Place is made of greatness.
Happy Place has become my happy place. It didn't take me long to fall in love with these characters who are imperfect and flawed and human, just like us.
Emily Henry never fails to write chemistry, banter and angst that has me screaming into a pillow, giggling and crying. She has this ability of writing characters that you can't help but see yourself in so in turn, their happiness and pain begins to read like your own.
Harriet and Wyn are so special and I am so happy that I was able to read about them. This is definitely a comfort read.
I cannot even begin to explain HOW MUCH I LOVED THIS BOOK. This book made me feel so many things, but the most important thing is that Happy Place felt like coming home. Such a sweet and heartwarming feeling. I loved every part of it, it made me so emotional and I just - wow!!!! I don't even know what to say about this other than the fact that it's incredible and I will keep it close to my heart.
I am so disappointed. This is definitely my least favorite Emily Henry. I found it to be way too slow and very cheesy. I did not feel any emotion or connection to the characters at all. I didn't like the flashback chapters because I felt confused where they fit in in the story and they just felt disjointed. I think I would have rather done half the book as a part one “before” and the second when they reunite. Almost put it down at the halfway point but pushed through. People we Meet on Vacation will always be my favorite.
I'm not the biggest fan of breakup romcoms but it was compelling and there was definite attraction and sexual tension throughout. It bounces from the present to the past, which is also not my favorite structure, but she handled it well.
I enjoyed this book, but the fact that the whole plot is just about miscommunication doesn't sit well with me.
4.25 stars
The chemistry between Wyn and Harriet was actually insane. I've never had a book make me feel like two people were so meant for each other like this one has.
This book was really good and the only reason for 4.25 was I found myself getting a bit bored in the middle a bit but I think I feel that way towards most romance.
This is my first Emily Henry book and if all her books have as much chemistry and love as Wyn and Harriet then i'll definetely be reading her other books.
