This was......really hard for me to finish.
I loved the first bits. Part I. The kids in high school. Set it up nicely for the romance. But from the accident going forward, I think I just couldn't connect with their grief. I feel like so little was shown about the relationship with their parents, and that little wasn't great (read TERRIBLE). Dave was not a good dad, and 188 letters don't absolve him.
So little was shown of Easton relating with their parents that I couldn't really empathize with his complete breakdown over it, beyond the fact that those were his parents. That being said, I understand that it's normal to grieve ones loved ones, even if they were not great people.
Also, usually the MCs take turns being the victim and villains in their romances. This felt like Cannon got the short end of the stick all the time. Always him with the olive branch. Him breaking so Easton wouldn't. Sigh. I understand that people handle grief differently, but even outside that, there were no redeeming qualities in Easton. Merely having fallen in love first.
