3rd re-read and still as amazing as ever.
This is a book you need to read more than once, it feels like a new story each time!
On the first read, it shocked me.
On the second read, I could understand what is going on in the story and it felt like I was reading a whole new book.
and now on the third read, nothing is new to me but the story is still sooo good.
Took a little while to get used to the style the book was written in but by the time I did, I was hooked. The plot twist blew my mind a little!
2.5 stars. TW for alcoholism, drug use, sexual assault, incest, self harm, bingeing/purging, suicidal thoughts/suicide attempt, dissociative identity disorder ... the list could probably go on. Just.. what was the point? I read some fucked up shit and this was DIFFICULT to get through.
Seriously, I loved it. You should try to read it. Some of the stuff is really disgusting. But the end result is complete: Beautiful-ness.
I've been on this super dark book binge, and I decided to give this one a try, even though I thought a book told in prose would not be for me. I was surprised that I didn't mind the telling, and the ending I did not see coming. This book is not for everyone, but the author did a great job crafting it.
