This was a fun read. It gave darker/gothic Caraval vibes and having to summon Blackwell by saying his name three times reminded of Beetlejuice lol. I enjoyed the world and the characters. Looking forward to reading more from this author.

I really enjoyed this addition the series and read the entire thing in one sitting. Only downside is waiting for the next one after that cliffhanger!
3.5 stars, rounded up because I like this author. Quick, easy read. Not a bad story.. just not my favorite of hers.
3.5 stars. I think my biggest problem with this series is just that – it was a series. I liked reading them but I feel like it could have been one solid 4.5 stars book rather than four 3.5 star books. The author writes well. I'm just not sure the story merited four books.
