It was a good look into his life and inspiration for the music and how he got where he is. However, there is a lot of names that I didn't know. So some of the songs and what not that I had to look up to really get a feel for it. This is also the first musical biography I ever read, so that might be a factor.
As a ParrotHead, I liked the stories, especially the early years.
The writing style was a little annoying in the beginning but I got past that.
I didn't think much of Jimmy until I took a sailing trip in the Bahamas with some friends and then all his songs made sense.
