Given the title, I was a bit confused by the opening section about a Turkish delegation to the court of Elizabeth I in 1591, and I can imagine that this might have thrown readers off. Once the story moves to Scotland, though, it becomes enthralling and something of a fun spy novel. (I borrowed a library copy of the book but listened to the audio version, which was brilliantly narrated.) Phillips is a terrific writer. I previously read his first novel, PRAGUE, which I also enjoyed.
