Loved the Dogma and Galaxy Quest Stuff. I just struggle with biographical stuff. Enjoyable when I knew what he was talking about. Especially his current events stuff was interesting to see his thoughts on many things.
It feels like I'm looking through something which wasn't meant to be read and looked into. It's not bad, but it's not meant to be read for sure.
No rating for this one.
Not because I didn't like it, but because how do you rate one's life.
I'm just glad I've read it and met him in a way. Alan turned out to be different from what I've expected. But it's OK. We all have our own personalities and these pages were originally written not to be read by others.
I have some very little doubt though if Alan himself would've liked these pages to be published.
jsem biased protože jsem toho půlku překládala
a taky miluju, že je alan socialista

You know that saying “don't meet your heroes”? Don't read your heroes' diaries. This book is an endless fog of self-loathing that I just couldn't bear.
It's difficult for me to rate what is essentially the daily diary of a man.
As a fellow journaller of daily life, my own takeaway was how he journalled - he showed me the true art of writing. Even the most mundane was described with such humour, wit and flair.
I wanted to see his thoughts about Harry Potter and boy, did I get them. They made me feel a little guilty that his private thoughts were being published though.
