much better then the first book! i am slowly beginning to love this story
Masquerade was just as easy and quick of a read as Blue Bloods but this time we got a little bit more character development as well as the introduction of 2 more characters. One, I suppose, is going to be a major player in the coming novels and the second was kind of a plot device. What made Masquerade better than Blue Bloods was that de la Cruz's style of using past documents to substantiate the current Blue Bloods reign actually paid off.
This time it turned the novel into an effective mystery. I read the newspaper clippings posted before each chapter with interest and I tried to figure out which of the current blue bloods was the person in the newspaper and just as I realized who it was the book ended on a cliffhanger. I think she set the tone for the series with this book and now I'm finally interested in the plight of the Blue Bloods.
