Gregor Samsa awakens one morning to find himself transformed into a repulsive bug. Trapped inside this hideous form, his mind remains unchanged--until he sees the shocked reaction of those around him. He begins to question the basis of human love and, indeed, the entire purpose of his existence. But this, it seems, is only the beginning of his ordeal.

This BRILLIANT piece of literature starts off with this very intriguing line, and proceeds to tell the metaphorical story of Gregor.
I loved this book, not only because its so brilliantly read, but because I had read a few pages before listening to it, and the text is just as mysterious. Planning to re read this, very soon
So glad to have been introduced to Kafka through this.
I admit this is a well written book. I just didn't get much out of it and found it a bit of a downer.
