This is what happens when you buy a book because of an intriguing cover. You're surprised. In this case pleasantly so.
I truly hadn't the foggiest idea what this would be about but it was short and sweet.
Xander is a sweet boy in search of someone who will make him feel. He's a bit skittish having had a bad experience made worse by embarrassment. His friend Lara of course tries to help by setting him up for a night in a BDSM club and also, unbeknownst to Xander, on a date with her boss Paul. Paul is like some über-Dom who nonetheless has been pining for Xander and is nervous of getting things wrong. I liked seeing Paul sweat. I confess that sometimes I'm bored by the overly formal BDSM club scenes because they feel almost scripted or contrived. I much prefer the organic D/s relationships where it's all about emotion and here we got to see a Dom crack a bit. Yes!
I would love to see an epilogue or a scene of the couple sometime in the future to see how the relationship is faring so only three stars. But someone who respects Sunday Smut Day is good in my book.
