Baseball wasn’t supposed to be a game of life and death... The summer that Chase Stern entered my life, I was seventeen. The daughter of a legend, the Yankees were my family, their stadium my home, their dugout my workplace. My focus was on the game. Chase ... he started out as a distraction. A distraction with sex appeal poured into every inch of his six foot frame. A distraction who played like a god and partied like a devil. I tried to stay away. I couldn’t. Then, the team started losing. Women started dying. And everything in my perfect world broke apart.

So much made me angry about this book that I have to put it all under a spoiler tag.
First of all, Tobey having sex with Ty when she was so drunk that she clearly couldn't give consent. Yeah. Then when she and Chase start sneaking around after her 18th birthday and she's worried that if they get caught her dad will be angry and give her a curfew. You're an adult, honey, you can do whatever you want. It just shows how immature Ty is at this point and proves that she isn't ready for a serious relationship. After Ty realizes she's pregnant and is practically forced to marry Tobey, does this book take place in the 1950s? Just because you're knocked up doesn't mean you have to marry the guy.And when we skip ahead to four years later when Chase comes back and Ty is angry with him for not coming back for her after he was traded. Girl, you were pregnant and married. What would have happened if he did come for you?? Lastly the cheating. Ok. I get it if you're in a relationship and your one true love comes back into your life. At that point, I expect you to end things with your current partner because continuing to cheat on them is a shitty thing to do. Not only does Ty cheat on Tobey with Chase repeatedly, she sleeps with Tobey during this time as well. Vomit.I felt bad for Chase for the majority of this book. He clearly tried to be a better guy and clean up his act for Ty and she treated him like shit. Ty didn't deserve a man like Chase.Ugh. I'm not even going to talk about the murder mystery thrown into the mix. Rant over.
