Need You Now

Jack has come back to his home town to lick his wounds and recenter after being battered by life. This brings him back into Logan's orbit.

When Jack and Logan roomed together during their college years Logan was the ultimate party animal, sleeping his way through school but in a very heterosexual way, at least as far as Jack could tell and after one incident too many Jack moved out in order to save his heart from unrequited love. After school Jack moved north and had a life ... and then that ended.

When Jack comes back Logan has one night to convince him that all that transpired in the past was unimportant and that Jack was who he always wanted and that's where I got a little tripped up. The fault lies not in the story or how it's told but the brevity of it. It is a novella and these two did have a short hand due to their long dormant relationship but I did hope for more time to transpire during the story, more time between the talking and the “doing” and more about things that are alluded to but not fleshed out i.e. Jack's parents and family in general.

Overall I did enjoy this friends to lovers story and it does pack a lot of steam. The ending makes it a holiday story too so it was an early Christmas story for me ;-) Didn't so much love the ghost or supernatural turn but I guess it works in the X-mas spirit
