these stories were so fun and silly but also heartfelt and deep? a few stories were a little weaker than the others but they were all really interesting, memorable, and well written, and i really liked the collection as a holistic piece too, which is hard to pull off with collected stories.

i wasn't sure if this would land for me because i saw it was about parenting, and i'm not and will never be a parent, but it's really not about that at all and more just about ... relationships? it was very good. my fav stories were learning the ropes, chip, and raised by wolves. and i really loved the ending, it genuinely made me laugh, as did a number of other parts too. def wanna read more from simon rich now.
