The publisher provided me with the opportunity to read this in exchange for providing feedback. (via NetGalley)
3.75 stars. Pretty engaging, fast paced story for me. I would have given it 4 stars had the ending not been such an abrupt cliff hanger.
My original review was for 1 star. That review is below this one. Sadly, I can only bump it up to 2 stars this time around. While the revision did fill in some gaps, the story did not flow for me, and the characters were not any more likeable. The Extinction is what made this book sound interesting to me, but it just didn't play a big enough part for me.
I received a copy of this book from NetGalley. This book starts off with everyday normal life, then jumps to months after The Extinction. The Extinction is the end of bees, and life as it was. Nirvana is a virtual world you can go to, where life is as it used to be. Larissa believes that even though her husband is supposedly dead, when she sees him in Nirvana, it is him and not an illusion. I did not enjoy this book at all. I liked the idea, because I can just imagine how catastrophic the extinction of bees would be, but there wasn't enough about that. It just went from before to after. I wanted to know exactly what happened in that missing chunk of time. This book just wasn't for me.
