Ummm, so I never read these kinds of books... they just aren't my style but a friend gave it to me as a B-day gift so I had to give it a go... It's basically a story about a friendship between an 11 -soon-to-be -a 12-year-old optimistic girl and a middle-aged bling man. That's basically it. They both are in tough situations and find love and positivity in each other. The man is basically a depressed, angry, and lonely man who doesn't have anyone anymore. His boyfriend has died long ago with their puppy and many other friends. His family isn't much in touch with him and his mom hates him for being “not normal”... He used to be a very famous painter and designer and now he is a nobody. The girl Lupe is a Hispanic kid who lives with her grandparents because her parents are in Mexico to find a job. Her grandpa is very sick with some lung disease and she Spoilerlater turns out also has an illness, cancer! That was not much of a twist but, whatever. It's just basically a story that you feel like you've read many times! In the end, Lupe celebrates her Quinceañera and she is happy, strong, and positive as always!
