Un album correct mais sans plus de la collection de BD « Ils ont fait l'Histoire », consacré à Philippe IV, dit Philippe Le Bel, petit-fils de Saint-Louis. Cet album décrit parfaitement les évolutions de la monarchie sous le règne de Philippe Le Bel, mais le côté pédagogique prend le pas sur l'aspect narratif, et cela donne un album manquant de rythme et de souffle.
