On a hot spring afternoon my cousin told me that he was reading (and liking) this author. I made a search in my e-books and found that I have a few books from Nelson DeMille. So I thought why not give it a try and start with the John Corey #1 - Plum Island.
The main character (John Corey) he´s intelligent, sarcastic and has a smart ass attitude (just the way I like). He can really annoy some readers.
All the characters are consistent and very well developed and we can love them or hate them.
The mystery started slowly but it has all the thrilling elements: good/bad cop, crimes, American history (at least Long Island history), animal testing, biological warfare, drugs, hidden treasures, boat chase scenes and some humor.
When you reach the middle of the book one's cannot put it down and the thriller makes your heart race and beat like hell.
There are some unnecessary parts and it would be better with less 50/100 pages.
The abuse of the expression “so forth” (more than 40 times, but who's counting!) was a real pain in the ass.
