i feel like maybe i should've waited until halloween to read this just because it's an absolute perfect halloween-mood cozy read, but i couldn't wait and it was precious. it also makes me miss the US and all things theme park and fair-related, haha. i REALLY want to try a pumpkin bomb ... this is a 4 star read for me just because it felt a LITTLE too shallow/light (and dragged on a tiny bit, in pacing?) until the last like 30 pages, which then felt rushed? it wasn't BAD in any way, it just wasn't for me, i always want more depth lol. but it wasn't pretending to be a deep or heavy read, so i can't fault it for that, it was just a personal hangup.
3ish weeks later - the more i thought of this the more it was just a solid 3 star read. i actually was talking about it with a friend and realized that (1) when i was reading it, i had no idea the characters had crushes on each other, they felt like siblings, and (2) deja was cute but the male character whos name i can't even remember now was like. idk. boring. still the art was lovely and the story/setting WAS cute, but yeah. i think i just got caught up in the pumpkin craze rating it 4 stars at first haha
