This was unsatisfying in the end. There was so much buildup, but it didn't feel like it paid off. I enjoyed it, but I wanted more
This one was just fine. I hated that I had to read over 200 pages before anything happened. Build up wasn't anything special. There was a twist but it was just okay. Don't really care for the ending personally. 🤷🏼♀️

This is my second book from this author. The first being “The Wife Upstairs”. I just feel as though this authors writing style isn't for me. Although the characters are all in their 20s (some early 20s, some later) it felt as though they read younger to me - more like teenagers.
I did want to DNF in the beginning but I pushed through. It got more interesting half way through. I could've done without countless use of the word “reckless” - we get it from the title.. they're reckless.
Some of the things that happened and the choices made in the book just didn't seem to make sense to me. The characters weren't very likable. I was a bit bored with the “Before” chapters although I guess I understood why it tied in. Although I do understand the point the author was trying to come across with the ending, it just felt convoluted and nonsensical at times.
It was just an okay read for me.
I had the best time reading this locked Island whodunnit. The only thing that would've made it better is a July release date and me reading it on a sunny beach. I loved the back stories for all the women. Their narratives were well fleshed out and made me care -for the most part- about their stories. I'm partial to a high body count and this one delivers. My only real beef is the title. Don't blame the ladies in this one. It's the men that are terrible in this tale. 4 stars. Compulsive read but save it for the beach if you can.
This book was not as engrossing as I had hoped. The island vibes were nice and being in the situations that took place would be scary. I liked having character backstories in between chapters but I had predicted the ending pretty early on in the book. I also feel like there was some slow parts in the middle and then the ending felt a little rushed.

I liked the deserted island vibes! I agree that not much is happening in the book until the very end, yet, for some reason, it did not bother me. I liked reading about the characters. The suspenseful atmosphere was great as well!
Lost a star cause I wanted it to go another way, but gained a half star cause I liked the epilogue.
3 stars because the link between people was well thought, even if something smelled off from the beginning. But just barely because that psycho ending was way too weird.
OK so this was my last fling of summer read and MAN I loved it! I haven't read this author before but have The Wife Upstairs on my shelf. Whelp, I will definitely be reading that one soon!
I haven't read an island type mystery/thriller like this and this has all the fun vibes of The Island movie. There is backstabbing, lies, deceit, bonfires, partying and of course murder. Who doesn't love a good beachy murder
This book was really fun and I enjoyed it A LOT. However, the “thriller” aspect felt like an after thought tacked onto the end and I think I would have enjoyed it more without that portion.
The book really didn't even get rolling until there was only like 40 pages left and everything happened SO QUICKLY. Nothing was fleshed out and it felt so disjointed. Like it was an entirely different book I'd just stumbled into.
First like 70% was 5 stars. The ending was like 1 star. So here we are at a 4.
