I listened to this on audio book, I thought the female voice actor was great but the male voice actor was a bit weird. Also, I felt it would have made more sense for each character to voice their own character even if it was not the chapter from their perspective. As it stands, when it is Adrians chapter he voices Nova's lines in a girly voice. It seems weird when they could have had Nova's voice actor do her own lines in Adrian's chapters.
Either way, I was surprised I had liked this book towards the end. I want to know more about the backstories of the groups. I feel like there is set up for a twist where the bad guys are the good guys and the good guys are the bad guys. “From my point of view the Jedi are evil!”
I have been putting off reading this until the trilogy was finished to avoid the agony of waiting to read the next installment. Thoroughly enjoyable, very immersive. I am always slightly bothered by the lack of underlying science to all these super-abilites which is why I don't go in much for hero books but Meyer does it so well, I can suspend my disbelief without resentment.
This book was ADDICTING. I can't explain how addicting it was, I stayed awake till 12 to finish it. The world is easy to understand in my opinion, I've read a couple of dystopian and this, I have to admit, IS THE BEST ONE so far. I liked the dynamic of her being a villain and Adrian a superhero, It was cool because all the tension she had with her being a “villain” and Adrian not knowing anything about it. Which for me was heartbreaking because he doesn't now and he believes her. Well after all I knew that Ace was not dead. But it's interesting that she never said ANYTHING about Ace being dead, which I DIDNT notice what?? After all I give the book a 4 just because it was addicting. Because for me was a solid 3.5. But yeah I haven't read any addicting books in a while.
LOVEEEEE ADRIANN
