Ride Wild is the third book in the Raven Riders series and my absolute favorite of this series!
I really thought it was going to be hard to top Ride Rough but I should've know Laura Kaye NEVER disappoints. I laughed, sighed and cried while reading Slider and Cora's story. I'm sorry Maverick, but Slider is my new favorite Raven!
Slider is a sexy single dad, he's been through hell and he has deep emotional scars, nonetheless he's trying really hard to raise his kids and, well, he's also fighting his attraction to Cora. He's aware that she makes his kids happy, so he hires her as a nanny, but, with Cora living in his house, it's getting harder to avoid noticing everything about her, however his past keeps haunting him and he's not willing to share his secret. At least not until he realizes that his boys aren't the only ones falling madly in love with Cora...
Cora is probably the strongest heroine of Raven's Riders world. She's gorgeous, funny, with a heart of gold, a soft spot for animals, she's an amazing friend and her relationship with Slider's kids is absolutely perfect! I loved everything about her, how brave she was, how she tried to protect the ones she loved (especially Haven) and her selflessness is utterly inspiring. Cora often has nightmares about her past, her life before the Ravens was hard and even though she wants to move on and heal, she finds herself still dealing with panic attacks and loneliness. She is deeply in love with Sam and Ben, Slider's kids, and when Slider offers her a job as their nanny, Cora thinks life can't get any better... except maybe it does...
I loved both Cora and Slider as individuals. But honestly when they finally give in to the intense chemistry between them... that's when I really fell hard for them as a couple: the way their relationship build, the steamy moments, their truly beautiful romance, everything between them was amazing. They were so perfect for each other, it was enthralling. I literally couldn't put my Kindle down! Everything flowed effortlessly! Even Sam and Ben provided lots of swoony moments and kept showing how Cora and Slider were meant to be together. Ride Wild wrecked me in such a great way. And, then, Laura describes one of the most horrible things humans do to innocent, loving dogs, which wrecked me even more and I couldn't stop my tears from falling. But I don't want to give much of the story away, so just trust me: if you haven't read Ride Wild yet, you're definitely missing out!
Ride Wild is an amazing, emotional journey, beautifully written with amazing characters, plenty of romance, swoony moments and an awesome suspense plot. I highly recommend it and I really hope we'll get Phoenix and Caine's stories too.
