Very good. Highly recommend for romance lovers. Some Lion King vibes, but Scare wins! I didn't care for the epilogue ending, but overall it was great!!

I loved the characters. Tristan and Sara are wonderful and very very likable, cunning, and powerful. Fantastic. I loved the political intrigue and political situation.
Some of the cuts and transitions were weird. The scenes were hot and I liked the book. Onto the next!

Knowing from the authors notes page at the beginning that this is a Dark Royalty romance aided in my enjoyment of Scarred. Like a lot of people I grew up with The Lion King, as well as having the privilege of seeing it on Broadway, there is a framed poster on my wall, Be Prepared as almost at the top of the track list out of the soundtrack. Scar is one of the great Disney Villains, and one of my favorites.
I was, not surprised but more amused at myself, that I really enjoyed this book. That it was easy to read and to follow was great, and as a bit of a slower reader this really only took me a few days to finish. As mentioned previously knowing that this was a Fall for the Villains type book, allowed me to sit back and just enjoy the ride that I was on. Most of the side characters I found endearing, or al least fun to read about. Timothy, Pete, and Simon are the true standouts. However I do wish that the more tragic or terrifying scenes left more of an impact on the characters than they did.
And yes this book was very nice and spicy, but it is a bit of a teasing slow burn! There's also wax and impact play!
I had such a great time with this, read the first few pages in Target, went home, and drove the 30 drive the next day back to get it and I'm so glad I did.
As with Dark Romances, please always heed the content warnings, which are posted on the authors website.
when i die, bury me with this book... bury. me. with. this. book !!! it was so good!!
i knew i would love this book but i didn't know i would love it as much as i did! tristan was the perfect villain and was so cruel, so hot, but so sweet when it came down to sara b. <3
i need a million more books with tristan and sara b. <3
First Book of my book club. What can I say... you can't go wrong with this series.
Love the story! I would say it's a beginner dark romance. Also, I would say it is a dystopia with a 1% fantasy.
If you love a good villain and the trope “I'll burn the world for you” believe you are gonna love this one. This book made me blush more because of the way this man talks than of the smut scenes. Same as with Hoocked, if I can say something about this author she knows how to create men that would make you blush and giggle just with their words.
I liked how the characters are built and that you could relate to some of their past and goals. Sara was not my favorite heroin book girly character that I read but she is a strong, independent woman, who knows how to adapt herself to survive. Tristan is a gorgeous man and soul. Love his tattoos
This book is very well written, even better than the first book in the Never After series, “Hooked”. The story flowed better, it was a believable ending and the tie ins to “The Lion King” are top notch. The one thing I thought was a bit odd was when Sara was grieving over the loss of her friend, something she blamed herself for, and then was like “this is a good time for hot sex”. I get her point, that it allowed her to clear her mind and feel loved but I thought it was a bit insensitive, especially since she went right back to grieving in the morning. I understand comfort comes in many forms but it would have been appreciated to see Tristan comfort her like he was doing, with gentle touches and wiping away tears without it becoming sexual. It would have added another layer to his character.
That being said, I did enjoy this book and I appreciate the ending and how it is a complete twist from the original.
This book surprised me honestly. I saw a few things about it, but I really wasn't sure how a Lion King inspired story was going to get
