Searching For Pemberley

abandoned this after about 150 pp. I wasn't particularly taken with the idea that Jane Austen wasn't clever enough to have imagined pride and prejudice. the only reason I stuck with it as long as I did was that the historical elements regarding post-war London were interesting. also, I couldn't comprehend why the protagonist was so interested in uncovering this mystery and why anyone would willingly divulge family secrets to this American. wth?
