Where has this book been all my life?

Probably the best sapphic YA I've read, if I'm being honest.

- basketball player mc!
- POC rep!
- great writing!
- delightfully tropey while still feeling fresh and original!
- wonderful friends!
- a healthy relationship with boundaries and communication! (!!!!!!!!)

And all of this while being cute as hell and making me root for each character every step of the way!

The only thing I didn't like was that I felt that one character was vilified a little more than necessary, and for me, it took away from the story slightly.

But overall, this was still a fantastic book, and I'm so happy I read it! Will be going on the to-reread list, for sure.

4.5This was so cute! Fake dating and enemies to lovers are two of my favorite tropes, so I loved how they were both included! I really enjoyed all of the family relationships, especially Scottie's relationship with her sisters! 3.25 // i wish this book was like 100-150 pages longer & that we had more time with scottie & irene to understand the development of their feelings for one another, it was like they were telling us they fell for each other & they like each other... but im sitting here like..how? because to me it's like they've spent 5 seconds with each other & had 3 conversations when in reality they've been hanging out for 3 months, i just didn't really SEE that if yk what i mean

the depiction of tryin to get over a manipulative & toxic ex & toxic situation as a whole & findin your way out of that/loving & trustin yourself again was spot on, loved that especially since that's what i'm currently tryin to do, i really needed that, readin about it in this novel was like a hug & bein told everything is gonna be alright

overall this book was your cute classic queer fake dating enemies to lovers sports romance <3

I had to re start the book three times because i was so busy to keep going but each time i had an amazing time and never got bored.
I loved the pace and easiness of the book. As I'm not an native English speaker sometimes reading can be frustrating but with “She drives me crazy” i could lose myself in it.

There are few things i would comment on but one of those would be i felt like Irene feeling were developed suddenly. Like out of nowhere but that could be only me.
I also wished there would be more scene of Irene and Scottie relationship as a couple. I was looking forward it a lot

i couldn't stop smiling through the last 20 minutes of this audiobook

this gives hsm-vibes in the BEST way possible. it's every ounce of a good teen romcom plus a sports romance plus an enemies/rivals-to-lovers plus fake dating plus s a p p h i c.

i also love how much light quindlen decided to shed on the actual and literal grief you can feel when losing a relationship (whether it be romantic or platonic or somewhere in between).

this is the cutest romance ive read in a while. like sugary sweet fluff. yet also has a few heart-wrenching-ly real moments.

also only 7 hours on audio?? the -perfect- length for a romcom.

ms. kelly quindlen please write more books im begging you.

I am going through my notes app where i tracked my reading last year and adding all the books,

I orignally had this as a 5 star but this was in my lesbian phase where I thought that was normal,

I do remember this book and it was actually the book that got me into reading as a hoby so it has that going for it but not much else.

First book for pride month!

I also think this is my first sapphic romance? CRAZY. It was so cute, i loved it.

It's enemies-to-lovers + fake dating + 1 bed trope... what more could I ask for, really? Irene and Scottie were adorable. Their banter was great (sometimes a bit too mean but I'm a bit soft). I love Irene SO MUCH.

I loved the side characters so much. HoneyBelle and Gunther were favs

This was a fast paced sapphic romance with great characters.

Something about it didn't sit right with me though. Scottie, trying to get back at her ex girlfriend propositions Irene to fake date her. Despite saying she doesn't want to out Irene, she still gives her a proposition she can't refuse. Thus, forcing her to come out even though she didn't want to.

Over the course of the relationship, Scottie was so confused about her feelings that it didn't make the relationship believable. She didn't even treat Irene like a human being. Just a trophy to make her ex jealous.

The writing itself was good, I just felt a little icky by the way things played out between them. Not sure I would recommend this one since it made me mad but if you like a cutesy sapphic YA romance and can look over those details, it's well done.

I always have issues with rating something 5 stars that, let's be honest, isn't a literary master piece. But then I also feel some books don't have to be like that to be thoroughly enjoyed. Within it's genre it shines brightly. I had a lot of fun reading this book! It hit all the classic tropes in the right way, without getting overly cheesy (and even while there was definitely some cheese, this book was self aware enough that it didn't feel forced). As an almost 40 year old who loves to indulge in YA, this really is one of the best I've read in a while.

Kelly Quindlen gives us a solid premise in She Drives Me Crazy. I'm actually not a fan of the fake dating trope due to all of the lies involved. This one I kind of like because they were actually enemies. The hoops they jump through allow them to get to know each other beyond their preconceived judgments.
